Dissolve the yeast in 100 milliliters of warm water and let it sit for 10-15 minutes until it becomes active. The mixture should start to bubble
2
Combine the sifted flour with the dissolved yeast, add sugar, salt, and the remaining warm water
3
Knead the dough for 5 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. Cover it with a towel and let it rest for 10 minutes
4
Finely chop the chocolate and spread it out on a flat surface. Place the dough on top and knead it, incorporating the chocolate and adding flour as needed. Leave it in a warm place, covered with a clean towel, for 40 minutes
5
Divide the dough into pieces, then roll each piece into a long “sausage-like” shape and twist it into a spiral
6
Place the prepared pieces on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover them with a towel and let them rest for 20 minutes
7
Bake in a preheated oven at 200 degrees Celsius (392 degrees Fahrenheit) for 20-30 minutes

Enjoy! You can store these Italian breadsticks for several weeks in an airtight container at room temperature. When serving them again, you can easily reheat them in the oven
