Method of preparation

Prepare the ingredients for use: thoroughly wash the orange, grate the zest using a fine grater. Remove the white skin and membranes from the remaining fruit, and cut it into medium-sized pieces

Start making the dough: carefully separate the egg yolks from the egg whites. Mix the egg yolks with the sugar until they turn white

Then beat the egg whites to stiff peaks with a pinch of salt

Add the grated zest, egg yolks, sifted flour to the prepared egg white mixture, and gently mix

Add the orange pieces to the batter and gently mix, being careful not to break the structure of the fruit

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius (356 degrees Fahrenheit). Take a baking dish, line the bottom with parchment paper, and grease the sides with vegetable oil

Pour the batter into the baking dish and evenly distribute it around the edges

Bake the cake in the oven for 25-30 minutes, adjusting the baking time based on your oven’s power

After baking, let the cake cool, then remove it from the mold and serve, dusted with powdered sugar
