Method of preparation

Prepare the ingredients: sift the flour at least twice – this will make the pastries airier. Then, mix the flour with salt and baking powder

Take a small saucepan, add water and one tablespoon of olive oil, and bring it to a boil

Once the water starts boiling, remove it from the heat and gradually add it to the flour, gently kneading the dough. It should be slightly thick, sticky, and moderately elastic

Transfer the finished dough to a pastry bag with an “open star” tip

In a saucepan or a deep skillet with a thick bottom, heat sunflower oil

Then, squeeze out churros into the oil, about 15 centimeters long

Fry, stirring slightly, until they turn golden brown. Then, remove them from the frying pan and place them on paper towels to remove excess oil

Sprinkle the finished churros with powdered sugar or drizzle them with melted milk chocolate

Cooking tips

You can replace the pastry bag with a sturdy food-grade plastic bag by cutting off one of its corners

If you find it challenging to squeeze the churros directly into the oil, you can make prepared shapes. We also suggest creating swirls in the form of a circle to give the pastry a beautiful appearance

If you don’t have chocolate on hand, you can prepare chocolate glaze: melt 50 grams of butter, add 3 tablespoons of milk, and 3-4 tablespoons of sugar. Heat the mixture until the sugar dissolves completely, and the glaze is ready to use
