Fried milk buns can be made with any filling of your choice. My all-time favorites are the buns filled with plum jam. Of course, you should fry them very carefully and quickly to prevent the jam from leaking into the hot oil

Prepare the sponge: dissolve the yeast in a portion of warm milk and add a tablespoon of sugar. Stir until fully dissolved. Cover with a towel and leave in a warm place for 30 minutes. The sponge should expand several times
2
Melt the butter and add it to the ready sponge along with the salt
3
Beat the eggs with the remaining sugar and add them to the mixture. Stir until homogeneous, gradually adding the flour
4
Knead the dough for 10 minutes until it becomes soft and elastic. Cover it with a towel and let it rise for an hour in a warm place
5
Peel and chop the onions and cabbage, boil the eggs, chop them, and add to the mixture
6
Shape the buns, place the filling in the center, and pinch the edges
7
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Place the buns on a parchment-lined baking sheet, brush them with beaten egg yolk, and bake for 30-40 minutes. Bake until they have a golden crust
Cooking tips
1
